On Oct. 28, the Bakersfield High School JV and Varsity baseball teams hosted a scrimmage with a twist- players were expected to wear Halloween costumes.
All the players were dressed up in costumes; spectators saw Batman, bananas, dinosaurs, and more take the field. In the stands it was mostly family watching; not many BHS students went to watch.
Both teams were made up of a mixture of JV and Varsity players as they competed against each other. To make it fair for both teams since they’re on
different levels and have different strengths, they used a pitching machine to keep the pitches’ speed consistent for both teams.
The scrimmage was a good fun way to get in some additional practice before the spring season comes for the baseball boys.
Since it was just a scrimmage for the fun of it, they didn’t keep track of the score.
