Meet the new school year 2024-2025 Danny and Dottie, Jesse Estrada and Lasheau Hayden.
Getting to know Danny
Estrada is involved in the Christ Lead B.A.T. L. Club, Link Crew, and student council.
He enjoys running, so he does cross country. Estrada also enjoys shopping, traveling, and finding new music to enjoy.
Estrada looks forward to this school year for all the senior events he gets to experience with his friends this school year.
“Most importantly I am looking forward to pushing myself before I go off into the adult world and experience it for myself,” Estrada wrote in a message to The Blue and White staff.
Meeting Dottie
Hayden is also involved in Link Crew, the student council, the Black Student Union (BSU), and the BHS track team. She loves to run, go shopping, hang out with friends, relax, clean, and try new foods.
What Hayden looks forward to is passing all her classes with a B or higher, getting to know more people, and getting more involved. As of Oct. 17, she is one of three finalists for Miss BHS 2024.
“Another thing that I am looking forward to this year is making a difference on track and field team which is making it to the state championships with my individual events and getting colleges to notice me!” Hayden wrote in a message to The Blue and White staff.
Advice from Dottie and Danny
What Danny and Dottie Driller have in common is that they both want to be good role models to their peers at school. They also both felt like they fit the role because of their confidence.
“What made me want to become Dottie driller is knowing that I have the confidence to bring people out of their comfort zone,” Hayden wrote.
Both of their goals are to bring everyone out of their comfort zone and to have fun at the school events such as rallies, dances, and games.
Both BHS have plenty of wisdom to offer younger Drillers.
“Make sure to go to all your classes, try your best to pass the class with a C or better because your freshman year determines the rest of your 4 years, get involved with the activities that our school has, stay connected with us on all of our socials, don’t be afraid to surround yourself with new people,” Hayden wrote.
“These 4 years of your life are what shapes who you are as you go into the adult world so make the right choices and spend your time with the right people that pushes you as much as they push themselves,” Estrada wrote.
