Meet the Teacher
Logan Street is a math teacher here at Bakersfield High School.
This is his 17th year teaching at BHS, and 23rd year teaching overall. He teaches a variety of grades, but he mostly teaches sophomores and juniors.
About Street
Street grew up in Pasadena and lived there for 18 years. He then moved to San Diego for 5 years, then Victorville for another 5 years, and then finally to Bakersfield.
Street attended two high schools growing up; he started at John Muir in Pasadena and then transferred to San Marino High School. During his high school years at John Muir, he played baseball and basketball. At San Marino, he continued with baseball and basketball, but he also picked up football.
Street went to Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) in San Diego for college. He played baseball in college as well. His favorite part of the college was when he played baseball, and he got to enjoy the view of the ocean right behind the fields.
At first, Street started as a business major, but he thought it was boring. He later switched to math, and enjoyed it; Street finished his degree as a major in liberal studies with a math concentration.
A fun fact about Street is that his favorite season is the spring; that’s when the weather starts warming up and baseball season starts. He also enjoys it because he already knows his students’ personalities and has good relationships with them by that point in the school year.
Street at BHS
Street is an advisor for the BATL club (Boast About The Lord). The club focuses on the Bible and discusses what the Bible says. The club gets together to read the Bible during their meetings at lunch, and each member enjoys getting to know the Bible better so they can know God.
Street mentioned that this club isn’t specifically for Christians, but to get more information about the truth of the Bible. Street found interest in running the club because he is a deacon at his church, and he enjoys sharing his faith with others and helping them grow to faith. He welcomes anyone interested in learning more to try attending a club meeting.
Street on the street
When Street is not at BHS, he is mostly with his family; he spends his time with his wife and four children. He enjoys hiking, going on trips, and learning about soccer as a family.
Street mentioned that his family is mostly involved in the church and church activities. Faith holds an important place in Street’s life, and it is an important part of his relationship with his family.
