Bakersfield High School’s Culinary Arts class hosted their first ever Pizza Palooza competition on Dec. 14. BHS staff were invited to serve as judges of the students’ creations, and then vote on a winner.
One winner was selected from each of the culinary classes. The winners were the buffalo chicken pizza (6th period) and the pepperoni and bell peppers with fresh mozzarella (7th period).
The entries during both sessions included:
-“New York Meat Lovers” by Isabelle Amezcua, Malcolm Hess, Emilio Nava, Christian Escobar, and Gian Lorenzo.
-“Buffalo Chicken” by Jazmin Lujano, Isabella Bravo, Samara Montero, Simona Melendez, and Cambria Scott.
-“Pepperoni” by Darrell Hill, Sky Grandson, Journie Brown, and Angel Ava.
-“Cane’s Pizza” by Raymond McNabb, Ismael Arellanes, Kai Vasquez, and Ryan Alvarez.
-“Hawaiian with Bacon” by Juliana Diaz, Kaila Soeur, Samaira Taylor, Haley Beltran, Jarunmy Gonzalez.
-“Stuffed Cheese” by Ricardo Delgado, Adrian Fuentes, Jesus Ramirez, Jordan Settles, and Juan Delgado.
-“Supreme” by Marelvy Estrada, Jorge Jimenez, Phoenix Callagy, Eagan Sauter, and Noah Se Los Santos.
-“Stuffed Crust Ziti” by Kylie Houston, Sara Powers, Jianna Miller, Erika Mata, Monica Esquivias.
