Seniors at Bakersfield High School encountered their first event of the year on Aug. 28: Senior Sunrise.

The senior class funded this deep-rooted tradition with their proceeds from last year’s prom ticket sales. Senior Sunrise consisted of photo ops, an interactive painting and thumbprint banner, and watching the sunrise together.

Senior Sunrise is a deeply cherished part of senior year for Drillers; it signals the beginning of senior year. Senior Sunrise, along with Senior Sunset at the end of the year, is one of the senior events with the best turnout each year.

This was a great way to start the class of 2024’s final year of high school.
