With Grad Bash coming soon, Bakersfield High School seniors need to make sure they have all of the necessary information to make the most out of this traditional graduation celebration.

What is Grad Bash?

Grad Bash is a yearly trip for the graduating class to celebrate their successful completion of high school. This year’s Grad Bash will take place at Universal Studios. This year the class of 2024 will be going on May 23.

What to know before you go

Seniors must meet at the stadium on May 23 by 10:45 a.m. Lunch will be provided before the buses leave at noon. Seniors must attend both the first and second periods before heading to the stadium.

Participants can expect to be at the amusement park from approximately 2 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. The buses are expected to arrive back at BHS at 5:00 a.m. on May 24.

What should seniors bring with them?

It is recommended that Drillers bring a small blanket and/or pillow for the bus ride. Students may bring clear bags to use in the park, but no food or beverages will be allowed to enter the park.

Once the buses arrive at the park, every student will receive a bracelet that will cover one dinner from any place at the park. However, students are expected to bring their own money; participants will pay for their snacks, beverages, and souvenirs at Universal. The food and beverage prices are high, so students should plan accordingly.

Some of the restaurants available to choose from include

-Krusty Burger ($20-30 for a main entree and drink)

-Despicable Delights ($10-15 for a sweet treat and drink)

-Toadstool Cafe ($25-40 for a meal and drink)

-Bumblebee Man’s Taco Truck ($20-30 for a meal and drink)

For those looking for some quick snacks, Universal Studios offers Starbucks, snack shops, and ice cream parlors.

All rides and attractions will be open and available for the seniors that day. The park will be closed to the general public that day and only senior grad bash students will be admitted.

Students who have purchased a ticket can pick up a packet with additional information in the SAB.
