With so many delicious recipes out there, it’s always fun to try those that are posted by influencers and artists.
Model Gigi Hadid posted on Instagram showing how she makes her pasta. Hadid’s pasta is simply a spicy pasta that packs a big flavor. I’m opting to exclude one of Hadid’s ingredients (IYKYK), but the difference in flavor is minor.
Ingredients:
- Pasta
- Olive oil
- ½ of a large red onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves
- Tomato paste
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons red chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Parmesan cheese
Optional: Increase the amount of red chili flakes and black pepper to increase the heat.
Directions:
First, bring a large pot of water to a boil over medium-high heat; add your pasta once large bubbles appear; the pasta should be al dente after 8-10 minutes, so be sure to check it every few minutes.
While waiting for your pasta to boil, dice the red onion and garlic cloves into little pieces if you haven’t already. You can opt to add more if you would like a stronger garlic or onion flavor.
Once the pasta is boiled, drain the pasta. Save ½ cup of the pasta water for later use when making the sauce.
Now that everything is prepped, add the olive oil to a skillet pan and let it heat up. Once the pan is hot and the oil has begun to form small bubbles, add the red onion and garlic cloves.
The red onion and garlic cloves should begin to soften after they have cooked for several minutes. Once the garlic and onion have softened, add the tomato paste and mix it together.
Slowly pour the heavy cream into the pan, and start mixing; the sauce should lighten to an orange hue. Most importantly, start adding your spices.
The spices can be increased for a more intense flavor, so I’d recommend tasting the sauce to decide if you want to make any changes.
Once the spices have been added, pour in the pasta water. Follow the pasta water with the butter, and mix the sauce until blended well. Pour your pasta into the sauce and mix until the noodles are thoroughly covered.
Lastly, mix in parmesan cheese to taste. For a refreshing addition, add fresh basil as well.
After you’ve done all these steps the pasta is ready now to enjoy!
I’ve tried it and I think that it is really good. It’s the perfect amount of spicy and it doesn’t taste plain or basic at all.
I definitely recommend people to try it; it’s not too difficult for even a beginner to make. It tastes so good!
