Dear Teacher: MVP

“Dear Teacher” is a series of student letters, written anonymously, to a teacher.

Dear Teachers,

Hello, I would first like to thank you for taking this school year head on despite the many crazy events that are only meant to appear in a story book. You are some of the bravest, wisest, talented people I know. I know 2020 has been a huge and I mean HUGE obstacle all on its own but the fact that you are teaching and learned over a year’s worth of technological skills in a span of a few months is phenomenal. You adapted into this situation and are doing your best to help not only your students but yourself. I thank you for being accepting of our current situation and for creating solutions so we all can work and breathe smoothly.

I really don’t know what else to say, I have no complaints over work or classes. Your work is the fair amount and due dates are equally as fair. The trouble isn’t with you but with myself. I choose not to do the work and when I procrastinate to work grows and grows like an uneven block tower that is ready to collapse. So it did. I apologize for my laziness and I apologize for not responding and being active in class. I’ll work to be better and I will. Not only for you but for myself. 2020 crazy enough as it is, we don’t need another thing to enlarge it. Thank you again for the hard work you are doing. You may think it’s going unnoticed but it isn’t I can promise you. I don’t know what you are taking or if you are just wizards with magical tolerance and patience but thank you anyway. You really are the MVPs of 2020.

Sincerely,

A very grateful student.

I completely agree the teachers are doing absolutely great during this quarantine. I can relate with the whole slacking off thing as well. But if anyone is handling this the best, it is the teachers. They really are the MVP’s of 2020.
